Dimethylethanolamine (DMAE) is a clear, hygroscopic liquid with an amine-like odor. Miscible with water, acetone, ether and benzene. DMAE is used as a curing agent for epoxy resins and polyurethanes. It is also used in the synthesis of intermediates for dyes, textiles, medicines, and corrosion inhibitors. Another application is as an emulsifier in paints and coatings.
