FASCAT®4101 is an amorphous, hydrolytically stable butyltin chloride dihydroxide. It can be used in esterification, polycondensation and transesterification reactions. The catalyst is used in the synthesis of saturated polyester resins for powder coatings.

FASCAT® 4101 is used to produce unsaturated polyester resins for gel-coating, sheet molding and cast molding applications. The temperature range for the generation of esters and antioxidants in the transesterification reaction is 140-180°C.
