Among the purchasing prices of industrial producers, the price of fuel and power in May rose by 31.6% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month; the price of chemical raw materials increased by 10.5% year-on-year and 0.2% month-on-month.

On average from January to May, the ex-factory price of industrial producers rose by 8.1% over the same period of last year, and the purchase price of industrial producers rose by 10.8%.

According to the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission, in May, the demand for thermal coal was not strong, and the coal inventory of thermal power plants in the province was increased.

In May, the thermal power plants in Hubei Province reached 3.116 million tons of thermal coal, a year-on-year decrease of 868,000 tons or 21.8%.

In May, the above thermal power plants consumed 2.554 million tons of thermal coal, a year-on-year decrease of 857,000 tons or 25.1%.

As of the end of May, the province’s overall inventory of thermal power plants was 5.167 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 854,000 tons.
