In terms of recyclability, for example, the Waldkraiburg-based supplier will highlight its progress in the evaluation and certification of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE).

KRAIBURG TPE has engaged the independent company Institute cyclos-HTP to evaluate the compatibility of selected TPS (Styrenic TPE) materials in recycling streams of HDPE and PP.

According to KRAIBURG TPE, the work demonstrated the compatibility of its TPS material in PP and HDPE streams and was certified.

KRAIBURG TPE will also present its “RC/UV” range, in which the proportion of post-industrial recycled materials varies from a minimum of 20% to 40%.

According to KRAIBURG TPE, the range meets the stringent requirements of OEM automotive exteriors, such as weather resistance and high surface quality.

It added that these products “enable suppliers to contribute to a circular plastics economy by replacing current components with identical ones made from TPE based on recycled materials”.

Another highlight at KRAIBURG TPE’s booth was the “lnterior PIR TPE”, with a high percentage of recycled material of up to 38%, post-industrial plastic recyclate – from external manufacturing waste.

KRAIBURG TPE says it uses these recycled materials to provide product solutions for sustainable automotive interior applications, among other uses.

Also on display is the “Universal PCR
TPE”, this material contains up to 41% post-consumer recycled content and meets the requirements of many consumer and industrial applications. Its mechanical properties are said to be comparable to standard materials.

“Visitors to K2022 can expect expert discussions on issues involving the TPE product and service portfolio, which includes the medical, industrial, automotive and consumer sectors,” said KRAIBURG TPE.

It noted that current innovations in the compound field also include thermally conductive TPEs and high-resistance TPEs for cosmetics, as well as providing carbon footprints (PCFs) of compounds.

“We look forward to meeting customers, prospects and partners to share information and ideas face-to-face. Our product range has grown considerably and I think we have a lot to talk about.” CEO Oliver
Zintner concluded.
